Metro grocery distribution and head office workers strike in Laval and Montreal since 30 March 2026
Last Updated:
About 550 unionized employees at Metro’s fruit and vegetable distribution centre in Laval, transport operations, and the Montreal head office launched an indefinite strike over wages, subcontracting, telework, and health and safety. Backed by a 97% unlimited strike mandate from the CSN’s commerce federation, the walkout has led to produce shortages reported at Metro and Super C stores across Quebec.
This alert was originally created on 20 April 2026.
