Escalation: by 24 April 2026 a 30th long‑term care home (Lunenburg Home for Special Care) moved to join the strike, bringing the total to about 3,000 CUPE workers province‑wide, with no bargaining talks scheduled. Picket lines continued into week three on 27 April 2026.
