Madrid: hospital specialists’ overtime strike from 1 June 2026 (indefinite)

Doctors in multiple public hospitals across the Madrid region will stop all voluntary overtime and evening ‘peonadas’ from 1 June 2026, open-ended. The action, called by AMYTS, spans at least 27 specialties in 13–14 hospitals and seeks better pay supplements, higher guard duty rates and a return to the 35‑hour week; hospitals warn elective activity and wait lists may be affected.
