Wallonia: TEC subcontracted bus drivers strike on Monday 9 November and Friday 4 December 2026 (CSC) — about half of TEC's drivers
In 9 daysLast Updated:
The union CSC has called the bus drivers employed by TEC's private subcontractors in Wallonia to strike on Monday 9 November and Friday 4 December 2026. About 49% of TEC's drivers work for these private operators, which run part of the regular TEC bus lines as well as school transport. On 9 November the union plans to block the private operators' depots across Wallonia; on 4 December it will demonstrate in Namur in front of the Walloon Parliament. It warns of further action if the two days bring no agreement.
What to expect: on both days a large share of TEC bus services in Wallonia — in particular rural and school routes run by subcontractors — may not operate, while the lines driven by TEC's own staff should run normally. TEC publishes the list of affected services shortly before each day; check its website or app before travelling.
Why: the drivers want conditions closer to those of TEC's own staff: meal vouchers raised to €8, reimbursement of commuting costs while keeping free TEC travel, waiting time between duties paid at the full hourly rate, an allowance for articulated-bus drivers, and a social clause in TEC's tenders so that private operators cannot win contracts by undercutting labour costs. The union has asked the Walloon mobility minister and the transport operator OTW to open talks.
