Handel og Kontor in Norway announced that if mediation with employer organization Virke fails by midnight on 5 May, retail workers will strike from the start of work on 6 May 2026. The first wave covers 926 members at 40 companies nationwide, potentially closing Coop and NorgesGruppen stores and taxβfree shops at Oslo, Stavanger, Trondheim and Bergen airports, along with outlets such as Norli, Match, Jysk and Byggmakker.
