After negotiations between Norsk Nærings- og Nytelsesmiddelarbeiderforbund (NNN) and NHO Mat og Drikke broke down on 28 April 2026, mediation at Riksmekleren is scheduled to end at midnight on 13 May 2026. If no agreement is reached, NNN will pull 887 members at 32 breweries and mineral-water plants out on strike from 06:00 on Thursday 14 May 2026; 933 employees at 38 companies are within scope. The action would land four days before Norway's National Day (17 May), with industry warning of supply shortages of beer and soft drinks for the holiday.
