Newspaper carriers across Norway could stop work from Saturday 6 June if mediation between Fellesforbundet and the Mediebedriftenes Landsforening (MBL) fails by the 23:59 deadline on Friday 5 June. Fellesforbundet has filed a strike notice for 519 members at 28 companies covered by the Avisbudavtalen, which would disrupt overnight delivery of newspapers in multiple regions. The dispute centers on wages and demands that employers advance sick pay, parental and care benefits.

Strike averted 2026-06-06 web-verify: Fellesforbundet and MBL reached agreement during mediation approximately 45 minutes after the 23:59 5 June deadline (per Nettavisen + agderposten). 519 newspaper carriers at 28 companies stayed at work. Agreement includes 6.5 kr/h general additions + 2.25 kr industry additions from 1 April + 8.75 kr minimum-wage increase + advance sick/care/parental pay.
