Update: this strike is over. On 14 July 2026 SAFE and Offshore Norge accepted the national mediator's proposal to settle the dispute through voluntary arbitration (frivillig lønnsnemnd), ending the strike and lockout in the well-service sector. Work resumed immediately afterwards.

Oil service workers organised by SAFE began an open-ended strike on 15 June after mediation with Offshore Norge over the well services agreement (Brønnserviceavtalen) failed. An initial 154 members at companies including SLB, Halliburton, Weatherford, DOF Subsea, Tios and DeepOcean have walked out, with a further 224 to join from 18 June if no deal is reached. Industry sources said there was no immediate expectation of output impact.
