Madrid-Barajas: SATE baggage system maintenance workers strike every Thursday, Friday and Sunday (Mar 7–Jun 30)

The union Alternativa Social de Clase (ASC) maintains stoppages at the Automated Baggage Handling System (SATE) maintenance contractors Outsmart Assistance and Totseriman at Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas. From 2 April the action expanded to Fridays, with stoppages 05:00–07:00 and 13:00–15:00 every Thursday, Friday and Sunday; the State set 50% minimum staffing through 30 June.

Spain’s Transport Ministry updated its minimum-service order on 27 March 2026: from 2 April 2026 the SATE maintenance stoppages at Madrid–Barajas were expanded to Fridays and the validity was extended through 30 June 2026, still with 50% minimum staffing. Times remain 05:00–07:00 and 13:00–15:00 on Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
