Basque Country: Euskotren rail, tram and metro strike days on 7–23 September 2026

Staff at Euskotren (Eusko Trenbideak – Ferrocarriles Vascos) are holding a series of strike days in September 2026. A Basque Government order of 4 September sets minimum services for 7, 9, 15, 17, 21 and 23 September; the remaining dates are 15, 17, 21 and 23 September.

Euskotren runs the regional rail lines in Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa, line 3 of the Bilbao metro, the Bilbao and Vitoria-Gasteiz trams, the Larreineta funicular and several bus services, so all of these can be affected on strike days, with only the minimum services set by the Basque Government operating (30% in previous Euskotren strikes). Euskotren normally publishes the guaranteed timetable the day before each strike day on euskotren.eus; check it before travelling. The unions behind the action and their demands have not been made public in the official notice.
