Zaragoza: possible indefinite tram strike from 19 October 2026 (no agreement yet)
In 18 daysLast Updated:
Tram drivers at Los Tranvías de Zaragoza say they will begin an indefinite strike from Monday 19 October 2026 if no agreement is reached with the company before then. The union Intersindical de Trabajadores de Aragón announced the plan on 30 September; no strike notice has been filed yet, so the action is not confirmed.
What to expect: if the strike goes ahead, the city's single tram line (Valdespartera–Parque Goya) would run only the minimum services set by Zaragoza city council, as in previous tram strikes. The date falls just after the Fiestas del Pilar, which end on 18 October. This page will be updated when a notice is filed or the threat is withdrawn.
Why: the drivers want daily driving time capped at 8 hours instead of up to 8.5, better rear-view cameras, action on cab noise they measure at 72–73 decibels against the company's claimed 55, and pay in line with other transport services in the city. The city council has urged both sides to negotiate but rejected the specific demands.
This alert was originally created on 1 October 2026.
