Around 200 GMB members at Nottingham Express Transit (NET) — tram drivers, ticket-office staff and maintenance teams — are striking over pay during the Goose Fair period, after 88% backed action in a ballot.
What to expect (NET's published plan):
- Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 September: no tram service on either line.
- Monday 28 September to Thursday 1 October: trams run to the Goose Fair timetable (every 8–15 minutes from 06:00 to midnight) but with possible delays, as staff work an overtime ban and action short of strike.
- Friday 2 and Saturday 3 October: no tram service.
- Normal service on Friday 25 September and from Sunday 4 October.
Buses do not accept tram tickets on strike days and season passes are not extended; NET says refunds are available under its terms. Goose Fair visitors should allow for buses, park-and-ride sites without trams, or walking from the city centre.
