Nottingham: NET tram strikes on 26–28 September and 2–4 October 2026 (Goose Fair)
In 7 daysLast Updated:
Around 200 GMB members at Nottingham Express Transit (NET) — tram drivers, ticket-office staff and maintenance teams — strike for six days over the Goose Fair period:
- Saturday 26 to Monday 28 September 2026, each day from 05:00 to 04:59 the following morning
- Friday 2 to Sunday 4 October 2026, same hours
- an overtime ban from 28 September to 2 October between the two blocks
What to expect: NET says it will run a temporary timetable with an altered, reduced service on strike days and will publish details before 26 September; on the 2024 strikes some routes ran only at limited times. Check NET's app and social channels before travelling, especially on Goose Fair days.
Why: pay. After nine months of talks, 88% of GMB members voted for action; the union says management has refused to move on low pay and the treatment of staff, while NET says the increase demanded is not affordable after earlier rises.
