St Asaph (Denbighshire): Qioptiq Teledyne defence optics workers strike on 16–19 June 2026

Over 400 Unite and GMB members at defence manufacturer Qioptiq Teledyne in St Asaph had planned to walk out from 16 to 19 June 2026 in a dispute over a 3% pay offer, action that would have hit production of night‑vision, laser and aerospace optics used in UK defence supply chains. The strike was suspended on the eve of the walkout after the company tabled a new, improved pay offer; Unite paused the industrial action as a goodwill gesture while Unite and GMB members ballot on it. Further strike dates remain possible depending on the ballot outcome.
