Springfield, Massachusetts: Square One child care workers strike from 2 June 2026

More than 50 teachers, staff, cooks, van drivers and other child care workers at Square One in Springfield, Massachusetts went on strike on 2 June 2026 after more than a year of bargaining. The stoppage affected early education and family support services at the provider, and the union said the dispute centered on pay and contract terms; the strike later ended after workers ratified a deal on 12 June.
