New York City residential building workers set April 21 strike if no deal

Roughly 34,000 doormen, porters, supers and other residential building workers represented by 32BJ SEIU voted to authorize a strike as contract talks with the Realty Advisory Board stall. With the current agreement expiring at midnight on April 20, the union says a walkout could begin on April 21, affecting thousands of buildings and over a million residents if no settlement is reached.
