CFDT

The CFDT is currently the leading union in terms of representative election results, particularly in the private sector. Since its secularization in 1964, it has evolved from its Christian origins toward a social-democratic and reformist orientation. The CFDT generally prioritizes contractual negotiation and social dialogue over systematic industrial action, while regularly participating in multi-union 'intersyndicale' mobilizations. It is structured across 15 sectoral federations, with a strong presence in services and healthcare.
