Founded in 2010, the EVG represents employees across many occupational groups within the transport sector, including infrastructure, maintenance, service, and administrative staff. It is a member of the DGB (German Trade Union Confederation) and typically pursues company-wide collective agreements covering multiple occupational categories within a transport enterprise. In contrast to categorical unions, its bargaining approach emphasizes inclusive representation and coordinated outcomes across the workforce.
