Ver.di

Formed in 2001 through the merger of five specialized unions, Ver.di represents workers in a broad spectrum of service-related professions. It is a leading negotiator in many parts of the German service sector, including public administration, healthcare, retail, logistics, and aviation ground services. Within transport, it is particularly active in representing airport ground handling staff, security personnel, and public transit workers (ÖPNV). Its industrial strategy often includes the use of 'Warnstreiks' (warning strikes) during early phases of collective bargaining to signal negotiating positions.
