FNV

Formed in 1976 from a merger of socialist and Catholic union federations, the FNV is the dominant labor organization in the Netherlands. It operates as a federation of various sectoral unions (such as FNV Spoor for rail and FNV Luchtvaart for aviation). The FNV is a central participant in the 'Polder Model' of social dialogue, negotiating collective labor agreements (CAOs) that cover millions of Dutch employees. It maintains a strong focus on purchasing power (including inflation compensation), work-life balance, and the protection of flexible workers.
