Baden-Württemberg: SWEG regional bus warning strike on 14–15 September 2026 (second wave)

ver.di has called a second two-day warning strike at SWEG Bus GmbH on Monday 14 and Tuesday 15 September 2026, following the first stoppage on 9–10 September. Drivers at the same thirteen depots are taking part: Weil am Rhein, Müllheim, Endingen, Emmendingen, Lahr, Offenburg, Schutterwald, Kehl, Gammertingen, Wiesloch, Sinsheim, Dörzbach and Lauda-Königshofen.

SWEG expects most bus services from these depots to be cancelled all day on both days and says it cannot provide replacement transport. School bus services run by SWEG are expected to be cancelled completely — the strike coincides with the first days of the new school year. SWEG's trains are not affected and run to timetable, but the rail-replacement buses on the Zollern-Alb-Bahn 2 between Gammertingen and Sigmaringen may be restricted. Buses run by SWEG's subsidiaries (SWEG Bus Schwetzingen, Rheinmünster, Pforzheim, Karlsruhe and Tübingen, and NVW Nahverkehr Mittelbaden Walz) are not part of the strike.

The dispute is about the railway collective agreement (Eisenbahn-Tarifvertrag), which expired at the end of August and is being renegotiated with the employers' association AGVDE, and about job consequences of bus-service tenders at individual depots. SWEG has called the renewed strike at the start of the school year disproportionate. Normal service is expected from Wednesday 16 September; further strike days are possible while talks continue.
