Baden-Württemberg: SWEG regional bus warning strike on 9–10 September 2026

ver.di has called a two-day warning strike at SWEG Bus GmbH on 9 and 10 September 2026 across thirteen depots in Baden-Württemberg, involving around 500 drivers. Bus services are cancelled or heavily reduced in Weil am Rhein, Müllheim, Endingen, Emmendingen, Lahr, Offenburg, Schutterwald, Kehl, Gammertingen, Wiesloch, Sinsheim, Dörzbach and Lauda-Königshofen, and SWEG cannot provide replacement services — passengers should use other operators or postpone journeys. SWEG's train services are not affected, although the current rail-replacement buses on the Kaiserstuhl line may also be hit.

The dispute is linked to the stalled collective bargaining round for bus staff, in which ver.di is seeking a 6.5% pay rise, and to the union's demands for job protection and a social plan for drivers whose routes are re-tendered to other operators.
