Baden-Württemberg: SWEG bus warning strike on Friday 23 October 2026 (ver.di, nine depots from Weil am Rhein to Lauda-Königshofen)
In 2 daysLast Updated:
The union ver.di has called the staff of SWEG Bus GmbH to a further warning strike on Friday 23 October 2026. SWEG expects heavy bus cancellations in the areas served by its depots in Weil am Rhein, Müllheim, Lahr, Offenburg, Schutterwald, Kehl, Gammertingen, Dörzbach and Lauda-Königshofen, and says its school buses there will most likely not run either. No replacement service can be offered; passengers are asked to use other operators, other modes or to postpone their journeys.
Not affected: SWEG's depots in Endingen, Emmendingen, Wiesloch and Sinsheim, its subsidiaries in Schwetzingen, Rheinmünster, Pforzheim, Karlsruhe and Tübingen, and NVW. Trains are not affected, though the rail-replacement buses on the Zollern-Alb-Bahn 2 (Gammertingen–Sigmaringen) may be limited. SWEG warns that online timetables and stop displays may be inaccurate on the day because dispatch staff may also strike.
Why: the railway collective agreement (ETV) that covers SWEG's bus staff expired at the end of August 2026; ver.di is negotiating with the employers' association AGVDE, and SWEG says the employers made an improved offer on 5 October. The union also wants company-level talks on the consequences of bus tendering, which SWEG rejects. Earlier warning strikes hit SWEG buses in early October.
This alert was originally created on 21 October 2026.
