Schleswig-Holstein: possible five-day bus strike in Kiel, Lübeck, Flensburg and Neumünster from 30 September 2026 (talks on 29 September)

ver.di has approved a five-day warning strike from Wednesday 30 September to Sunday 4 October 2026 at the municipal bus companies of Schleswig-Holstein — KVG Kiel, Stadtverkehr Lübeck, Aktivbus Flensburg, SWN Neumünster and the Kreis Plön services — after the third round of pay talks for about 1,800 employees failed on 22 September. The strike is suspended pending a fourth round of talks in Flensburg on 29 September: if the employers improve their offer, it will be called off; if not, it starts the next morning.

What to expect: on previous strike days (9–10 and 21 September) buses in the four cities stopped almost completely from the start of service, and Lübeck's Priwall ferries did not run. Regional trains and private bus operators are not affected.

Why: ver.di is asking for 6.5% over twelve months plus a €650 bonus for members; the employers have offered 5% over two years.
