Italy: nationwide ENAV air traffic control strike on 6 November 2026 (13:00–17:00)
In 54 daysLast Updated:
Air traffic controllers and other staff at ENAV, Italy's air navigation service provider, are called to a four-hour nationwide strike on Friday 6 November 2026, from 13:00 to 17:00, by FILT-CGIL and UGL T.A. An earlier call by the same unions for 16 October was withdrawn; this is now the second national ENAV stoppage of the autumn, following the UILT-UIL action on 30 September. ENAV staff at Bari Airport are also striking on 6 November in a separate action with the same hours.
Because ENAV manages civil air traffic across Italian airspace, the stoppage can affect flights at all Italian airports during the window and cause knock-on delays into the evening. Flights in the protected time bands (07:00–10:00 and 18:00–21:00) are guaranteed, and the strike window falls outside them, so morning and evening departures should operate. Expect cancellations and delays concentrated between 13:00 and 17:00; airlines usually publish their cancellation lists a few days in advance — check your flight before travelling.
