Catalonia: social-action sector partial strike on 15 and 29 July 2026

Trade unions in Catalonia's social-action (third-sector) sector have called partial strike stoppages on Wednesday 15 July and Wednesday 29 July 2026, following the sector-wide strike held on 1 July. Each action takes the form of a 15-minute stoppage per shift across social services and care providers throughout Catalonia. The unions say the mobilisation presses for proper implementation of the wage-equalisation deal signed on 6 May, which commits to closing — over 2026–2029 — the roughly 37% average pay gap (up to 66% in residential care) between third-sector staff and equivalent public-sector workers.
