Following a sector deal with Feicopesca reached at SIMA on February 2–3, 2026, CCOO de Industria and UGT FICA withdrew their nationwide strike notices for February 24–25. The Galician union CIG has not endorsed the agreement, so any further actions would not be sector‑wide.
Feb 6, 2026
CCOO de Industria and UGT FICA reached a sector agreement with employers’ federation Feicopesca at SIMA on February 2–3, 2026 (2025–2030 framework with a reported 12.9% pay rise and new classification). As a result, these unions have withdrawn the sector‑wide strikes they had scheduled for February 24–25. The Galician union CIG has not endorsed the agreement, so any further actions would not be sector‑wide.
Jan 27, 2026
Unions signed a postponement agreement that cancels the sector-wide fish canning strike planned for January 27–28, leaving those stoppages without legal effect. The CIG criticized the move after previously maintaining the action when UGT and CCOO withdrew.
Jan 22, 2026
UGT FICA and CCOO de Industria have desconvocado their participation in the sector-wide strikes after mediation advances. The Galician union CIG maintains the stoppages on January 27–28 (and a protest in Vilagarcía on Jan 24); status of the February 24–25 calls varies by union and remains unclear.
