Minor Metro (urban public transport)

The works committee of Metro de Granada has called partial stoppages and four full-day strikes between 30 October 2026 and 8 January 2027, after talks on a new collective agreement with the operator Avanza stalled. The calendar originally started on 20 October; on 16 October the committee moved the start to 30 October for administrative reasons, dropping the five October dates (20, 21, 23, 26 and 27 October). The metro runs normally until 30 October.

Partial stoppages (25 days): 30 October; 3, 4, 6, 11, 12, 13, 16, 17 and 20 November; 4, 9, 10, 11, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 22 and 23 December; 4, 7 and 8 January. The hours of the stoppages have not been published yet.

Full-day strikes: 27 and 28 November, 28 December and 5 January.

What to expect: the metro runs only minimum services during the stoppages; these have not been published yet.

Why: the workers want pay and conditions in line with Andalusia's other metro systems — the committee cites a gap of up to 30% a year against Málaga and Seville — and rejected the company's latest offer by 97% in an assembly; the committee says the two sides are very far apart but is open to resuming talks.

This alert was originally created on 8 October 2026.
