Jaén province: possible interurban bus strike from 9 to 18 October 2026 (San Lucas fair), pending workers' assemblies

CCOO, UGT and CGT have announced a strike in the road passenger transport sector of Jaén province — the regular interurban lines and coach services run by more than 70 companies with some 600–700 drivers — from Friday 9 to Sunday 18 October 2026, the period of the San Lucas fair in Jaén city. The unions say eleven months of talks on the provincial collective agreement have produced no offer on pay (drivers earn around €1,251 gross a month) or conditions.

Status: the dates are conditional. The unions have made the stoppages subject to approval in workers' assemblies and the notice has not yet been formally filed, so the hours and the minimum services set by the Junta de Andalucía are not known. Urban buses in Jaén city (Alsa) are a separate dispute and are not part of this call.

What to expect if it goes ahead: interurban buses between Jaén and the province's towns, and coaches to the fair, would run only on minimum services during the ten days.
