Tuscany: Pisa and Florence airport handling strike on Sunday 22 November 2026 (24 hours, USB) — deferred 30 October action re-filed
In 17 daysLast Updated:
USB Lavoro Privato has re-filed its 24-hour strike of ground-handling staff at Pisa Galileo Galilei and Florence Peretola airports — the employees of Toscana Aeroporti, GH Toscana and Consulta — for Sunday 22 November 2026, from 00:00 to 23:59. The call was entered in the transport ministry's strike register on 2 November. It replaces the strike of 30 October, which fell in the All Saints no-strike period and was deferred by ministerial order, and the 16 October call withdrawn before that.
What to expect: if the strike goes ahead, check-in, boarding, baggage and ramp handling at Pisa and Florence may be slowed or cancelled for the whole day; flights in the protected bands (07:00–10:00 and 18:00–21:00) and on ENAC's guaranteed list operate, and airlines contact passengers on cancelled flights. No cancellations have been announced yet. The same Sunday also sees the ENAV air traffic control strike at Milan Malpensa and the security staff strike at Venice Marco Polo.
Why: a dispute in the Tuscan airports' handling companies, which already produced a four-hour stoppage on 13 September and an overtime ban from 13 September to 12 October; the union has not published new reasons for this call.
This alert was originally created on 4 November 2026.
