Netherlands: National civil service strike announced for 3 March in The Hague

De Unie has publicly joined the ongoing national campaign by central government workers against the 2026 wage freeze, alongside FNV, AC Rijksvakbonden, and CNV. Unions confirm continued actions including coordinated break stoppages at the Tax Information Line on Feb 12, targeted customs actions that can delay passengers at Schiphol and inspections at the ports of Rotterdam and Vlissingen, and a nationwide strike rally in The Hague on Mar 3.

CNV announced on February 6 that, based on a member poll, it will not hold a large national manifestation or strike at the beginning of March and will instead work with other unions on a lower‑threshold action with impact. FNV, meanwhile, continues to call a national strike rally for central government workers on Tuesday, March 3 in The Hague, with strike instructions published.

As part of the national dispute over the 2026 pay freeze for central government employees, customs officers will perform full checks on all arriving passengers at Schiphol between 12:00–13:30 on 10 February, and conduct extra gate inspections at the ports of Rotterdam and Vlissingen, causing delays. Actions are organized by FNV, CNV, and AC Rijksvakbonden.

As part of the national dispute over the 2026 pay freeze for central government workers, FNV and CNV have called a local strike and rally of civil servants at Stationsplein, Zwolle, starting 14:00 on 11 February. The action precedes the national strike day planned in The Hague on 3 March.
